The Italian Training workshop with the title “Valutazione e finanziamento di progetti di efficientamento energetico” took place on February 25th, 2022, from 15.00 to 16.30 CET, organized by GFT Italia within the framework of the Triple-A: “Enhancing at an Early Stage the Investment Value Chain of Energy Efficiency Projects".

Participants had the opportunity to learn about the Standardised Triple-A Tools that would facilitate investments into Energy Efficiency, which is considered of outmost importance for the achievement of the EU’s energy and climate objectives.

The training was opened by Maurizio Megliola (Project Manager, GFT) with an introduction to the Triple-A approach, followed by an overview of Risks and Mitigation Strategies for assessing potential Energy Efficiency investments.

Then, the Standardised Triple-A Tools were presented, with a template project being input to the Tools and the assessment procedure briefly explained. Another live demonstration was then dedicated to the Triple-A Web Database, describing in detail all the related sections.

A presentation by Tommaso Zerbi (Project Manager, STAM) followed on the current status of the national context in the Energy Efficiency sector, including financing opportunities, by highlighting the availability of financial resources to accelerate growth, after the launch of the Next Generation EU (NGEU) program in 2020 (better known in Italy as the Recovery Fund). These resources are used by the Italian government within the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) to provide financial aid to entities interested in a green and sustainable transition.
